Which Scalp Serum is right for you?

Which Scalp Serum is right for you?

I've tried multiple scalp serums over the last couple of months.

This is coming from someone who loves to change their hairstyle a lot, so I've tested these with different hair textures and styles.

I have a naturally dry and sensitive scalp.

Kerasate Restassistant Resistance Scalp & Hair Serum

This serum is really good if you want to stop hair fall. It's actually made to help your hair grow longer, but I haven't really noticed that effect. What I DO notice? Way less hair falling out when I'm combing or brushing.

**The quirk:** For some reason, when I use this and Im wearing my hair straight, it will make my hair go curly way faster than water does. I don't understand why it does this, so I only reach for this when my hair is in its natural curly state.

Best for Reducing hair fall and shedding

Briogeo Destined for Density

I love this one! After I've just taken out braids and I'm seeing a lot of thinning on my perimeter, this is what I use to bring those edges back to life.

It has these little crystals in it, but they don't feel like anything - they just dissolve when you massage it into your scalp.

Best for: Thinning edges and post-protective style recovery

Act+Acre Daily Hydro Scalp Serum

This is probably my all-time favorite. I can use it with any type of hairstyle, every single day. It's a highly hydrating serum because it has hyaluronic acid in it. I'm a very dry girly with a naturally dry scalp, and this brings the moisture back. It's almost like you're getting to put lotion on your scalp, but it's not lotion - it's a serum. This is the only bottle I've completely finished because I use it so much.

Best for: Daily hydration, dry scalp, all hairstyle

Divi Scalp Serum Revitalize and Detoxify

I actually really like this one! It's so good for when I have braids because it helps with detoxifying product buildup. Sometimes when your scalp gets irritated from using too many products, this is really good for that.

It has a watery consistency, so it's easy to spread over your scalp - especially helpful if you have a protective style like braids.

Best for: Product buildup, detoxifying, protective styles

Act+Acre Cold Pressed Stem Cell Scalp Serum

I've never used a scalp serum with stem cells before, but I actually really like this one. I've noticed this serum definitely helps my hair feel thicker and more... juicy? I don't know how else to describe it, but it works!

Best for: Thickness and overall hair health

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing + HA

This is another good one with hyaluronic acid in it. If you have a really dry scalp, this is really good. I love to use this when I have extensions or a sew-in.

The consistency is almost like milk - very liquid-y. When you put it on your scalp, you can feel it traveling down. If I have any type of hairstyle that's too tight to get my fingers in there and actually moisturize everything, I use this one.

Best for: Extensions, sew-ins, tight protective styles, dry scalp
